SUMMARY:Climbing at MCU Quarry
DESCRIPTION:We hold outdoor climbing at 4:00-7:00 pm at the MCU Quarry in Muyenga. \n\n\nAt the quarry you will find a range of routes from beginner to more advanced. If you do not own climbing equipment (ropes\, harness\, belay device\, helmet) the Club provides equipment that you can rent\, see prices here.  Please bring sports clothes\, water\, and some collateral for rental equipment. \nClimbers usually go for some food and beers at Cafe Roma after climbing. \nMCU memberships cost 50\,000UGX for 1 year and 20\,000 for Ugandan students. New members can register here or at the event. \nDirections: From Tank Hill Road head toward Bukasa Road. Turn left onto Kalungi Road. Take your first right onto Kawagga Close. The quarry is on private property at the end of the road. Parking is available to MCU members.

SUMMARY:Indoor Climbing at ISU
DESCRIPTION:We hold indoor climbing on the first Tuesday evening of the month at 7-9pm at the International School of Uganda (ISU) in Lubowa. A range of different routes from beginner to more advanced. If you do not own any climbing equipment the Club has equipment there that you can borrow. Please bring sports clothes and some water. Climbers usually go for some food and beers nearby after climbing. The cost is free for members. Memberships cost 50\,000UGX for 1 year and 20\,000 for Ugandan students. New members can register at the event. \n  \nDirections: From Entebbe Road head toward Quality Shopping Village. Continue Straight 500m past the Bible University. ISU is on the right hand side.

SUMMARY:Mount Sabinyo Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Mt. Sabinyo is one of the numerous rolling volcanoes that make up the magnificent Virunga mountain ranges that span along the borders of Rwanda\, Uganda\, and DRC. When translated to English\, Sabinyo means “Old Man’s Teeth” and the hike reaches three peaks\, its highest standing at an elevation of 3\,669 m. \nThe plan is to depart from Kampala on Friday the 15th November\, start the hike early Saturday morning on the 16th November and return to Kampala on Sunday the 17th of November. This trip is not limited to individuals residing in Kampala\, MCU members residing in other parts of the country are welcome to join as well. DESCRIPTION:This weekend\, the MCU is headed to Jinja and the White Nile River for discounted group lessons with the stellar team at Kayak The Nile. \nPaddlers of all levels — especially beginners — are welcome. It’s always a fun weekend out of the big city! For more info\, including MCU discounts\, and anything else you might need to know\, sign up here.\nNon-kayakers are more than welcome to come and enjoy a chilled out weekend with MCU. There are plenty of non-kayaking options like swimming\, stand-up paddle boarding\, and more! \nBe sure to book accommodation with Nile River Explorers or Nile River Camp directly. Camping is available in addition to dorm rooms and safari tents. \nFor transport options\, it is possible to sign up for the NRE Shuttle\, but post to our Facebook page and we’ll hep you find a ride! DESCRIPTION:MCU is heading to Diani Beach from the 26-29 th December to learn how to kitesurf. After obtaining our\nI.K.O Kitesurfing license\, we’ll be celebrating NYE at the Kilifi Music Festival. \nLogistics:\nIf you’re interested in joining\, please book your own accommodation\, transport and kitesurfing course.\nThis is what we’re doing: \n\nWe’ll be staying at Stilts Treehouses on Diani Beach from 25-29 th December\n(https://www.stiltsdianibeach.co.ke/stilts-treehouses)\, but feel free to stay wherever suits you\nbest.\nThe course is at Quest Kiteboarding (www.questkiteboarding.com). There’s a 1-day intro course\nthat you can upgrade to a 3 or 4-day course. Or as us\, you can go for the full 3-day course\nimmediately which we might upgrade to the 4-day one\nIn Kilifi\, we’ll be staying at Bofa Beach Resort from 29 th Dec to 2 nd Jan (www.bofabeach.com). The\nrooms might be booked out\, but they’ve been happy to let some of us camp on their grounds\nThis is where you can get your Kilifi music festival tickets\n(https://www.quicket.co.ke/events/68063-kilifi-new-year-2020/#/) and by the way you can\ncamp at the festival.\n\nWe’ll be doing a road trip there and back\, starting on the 21 st of December and returning to Kampala on\nthe 5 th of January with some great stops along the way.
