DESCRIPTION:AND WE ARE BACK!!! \nClimbing at the Bukasa Wall is back and we are stoked to the moon… but there are a few restrictions as we still live in the times of COVID. \nTo keep everyone safe and to stay within GOU guidelines\, we can only permit 10 climbers at one time at the wall. Each week we will post a sign-in sheet via Google Docs around 12:00PM on Monday. The first 10 people to sign up get to go. If someone can’t make it\, the next person on the list will be notified to fill that spot. \nMasks are required for people belaying or hanging out at the bottom of the wall. \nClimbing will take place from 12-4 PM. \nHere is this week’s sign in sheet. \nAnd here are directions to the Bukasa Climbing Wall. \nClimb on! \n

If you do not own any climbing equipment the Club has equipment there that you can borrow. Please bring sports clothes and some water. Climbers usually go for some food and beers nearby after climbing. The cost is free for members. Memberships cost 50\,000UGX for 1 year and 20\,000 for Ugandan students.

SUMMARY:MCU Lake Mburo weekend
DESCRIPTION:MCU will be heading to Lake Mburo for the weekend to enjoy a variety of activities – cycling\, rock climbing\, running\, walking\, Safari drives… \nActivities: \nThere’ll be different cycles organised for various abilities on Saturday and Sunday. Lake Mburo is known for its wildlife\, so get ready to cycle past zebras\, giraffes and buffalo. You can rent a bike from Rwakobo Rock if you don’t have your own (or from Red Dirt if Rwakobo Rock runs out). Please arrange this yourself. \nFor the more adventurous people there’ll be Leopards Rock to explore for climbing. It hasn’t been climbed for a few years but people that have rave about it. So this would be a great chance to check it out. \nThere’ll be other activities of offer\, such as game drives or community walks but they may incur a fee. \nAccommodation: \nYou’ll need to book your own accommodation! \nOur base will be Rwakobo Rock (www.rwakoborock.com)\, where you can stay in safari tents\, rooms or cottages. Accommodation is full-board. MCU members gets a 10% if you show your membership card. \nIf you prefer to camp\, Leopards Rest Camp (www.leopardrestcamp.com) is just down the hill from Rwakobo Rock and offers cheaper camping options. \nMeals: \nWe’ll be having meals together at Rwakobo Rock which will be putting on some amazing 3-course buffets for us. Walk-in meals will be $8 instead of the usual $12 for the peeps staying at Leopards Camp. \nTransport: \nMCU is not organising transport\, but there should be plenty of people driving to Lake Mburo. DESCRIPTION:We hold outdoor climbing every third Tuesday of the month (or whenever members are available to lead) from 5:30pm-7pm at the Rock Quarry in Muyenga. A range of different routes from beginner to more advanced. If you do not own any climbing equipment the Club has equipment there that you can rent for 5\,000UGX per item (i.e. a harness\, shoes\, and rope will be 15\,000 UGX) \nPlease bring sports clothes and some water. Climbers usually go for some food and beers nearby at Caffe Rome where members get a 15% discount after climbing. Turn left at the intersection onto Kalungi road\, then take the first right on Kawagga close. Drive to the end of the road to enter the quarry.
