SUMMARY:Nyiragongo!!!
DESCRIPTION:The largest active lava lake in the world\, Mt. Nyiragongo is a trip not to miss.  We’ll depart on Thursday\, September 14th\, drive on Thursday and Friday\, and return to Kampala on the following Monday.  Cost is approximately 450 USD.  That includes 105 for the DRC visa and 300 USD for the hike itself.  We hope to get an MCU discount on this one saving 30 USD on the hike.  There is also a bus from KLA to Gisenyi\, then you can walk into Goma and get another bus to the Kibati trailhead.  Total cost depends on your transport and accommodation options.  Don’t forget your yellow fever card or you’ll pay for it!!!  The bus from KLA to Goma is 45k and takes 12 hours.

DESCRIPTION:Organized by: Red Dirt Uganda Mountainbike Centre and Kampala Group of Bikers (KGB) \nKluges Guest Farm\, Kampala Group of Bikers and Red Dirt Uganda Mountainbike Centre have teamed up to organise an awesome mountainbike chalenge in Fort Portal area. The event takes place on Saturday September 2nd at 8:00 and starts from Kluges. \nThe challenge consists of a thrilling 23km cross-country ride that takes you through beautiful tea plantations and makes you slalom between breathtaking craterlakes. The racetrack is 100% off-road with wide fireroads and singletracks. With around 600 elevation metres you can expect some challenging climbs. A nice challenge for both the beginner mountainbiker and the experience mudbuster.

Luwazi offers a good selection of top rope and lead climbing routes for climbers of different skills and experience levels. SUMMARY:KGB Sunday Ride
DESCRIPTION:Every week the Kampala Group of Bikers (KGB) will organize a fun ride on Sunday morning. The rides will be at an easy pace\, not too long (25-35km) and most important of all: great fun! The rides start from Kabira Country Club at 9am. You can park your car there for free. Our aim is to be back before noon for a good cup of coffee. Make sure to bring water\, food/snacks\, suncream\, a helmet and your bike and some money for coffee or drinks. If you don’t have a bike you can also hire one from Red Dirt Uganda (comes with a helmet) for 65k\, but let us know before the end of Friday. DESCRIPTION:We hold outdoor climbing every third Tuesday of the month at the Quarry in Muyenga. A range of different routes from beginner to more advanced. If you do not own any climbing equipment the Club has equipment there that you can rent for MCU members. Please bring sports clothes and some water. Climbers usually go for some food and beers nearby after climbing. The cost is free for members. Memberships cost 50\,000UGX for 1 year and 20\,000 for Ugandan students.

SUMMARY:Sipi Falls Climbing and Abseiling
DESCRIPTION:This weekend we have a group of MCU members up at Sipi Falls to hike\, climb\, camp\, and go on coffee tours! Many of us will stay at the Crow’s Nest\, which is the cheapest lodging option available. I suggest departure very early Saturday (6am) with climbing and lunch in Mbale\, then climbing Saturday later that afternoon in Sipi Falls on the main wall (below Moses’ camp). Sunday morning we’ll be climbing in the new wall and return to Kampala in the afternoon.\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email Hugo.\n\nHugo will already be in Sipi with Battani\, but people are free to join. The more the merrier!
