SUMMARY:Luwazi Rock Climbing
DESCRIPTION:The MCU is running another overnight climbing/camping trip to Luwazi this weekend July 23-24. Luwazi (actually called Insita) is a rock near Gayaza\, in a village called Kijjo ( I think thats the spelling :P). It is roughly an hours drive outside of Kampala. We will meet up at Oasis mall near Centenary park at 7.30 on Saturday morning and we will climb until Sun afternoon. \nThe rock has a number of different sport routes of varying abilities. SUMMARY:Seven Hills Walk
DESCRIPTION:Legend has it that Kampala\, like Rome\, is a city that was built on seven hills. The city derives its name Kampala for the Luganda work “Kasozi ka Mpala” which means a Hill of many Impala. The Kampala of today comprises of 21 hills\, but a walk through the 7 Hills will give you the opportunity to explore the genesis of the present day city. \nThe 7 hills are; Nsambya\, Kibuli\, Nakasero\, Old Kampala\, Namirembe\, Lubaga\, Lubiri. A route between the hills along paths and feeder road takes approx 6 hours.  The walk will be led by Deo Lubega (0712890369). The start and finish point will be the Moonland Gardens on Nsambya-Gaba Road (a safe place to park with a small charge).
